The USCIS is raising premium processing fees by just over 12% effective February 26, 2024. They justify the increase as a reflection of the amount of inflation over the past two years. In just over the past 3 years the premium processing fee will now have increased almost two-fold – from $1,440 to $2,805! Premium processing requests seem to be a necessary evil for many who want a reasonably quick and efficient adjudication of their petition or application. Those fees have been easy money for the USCIS and quite a cash cow that is now gaining some extra pounds.
- For petition/application types where the premium processing fee is currently $1,500, they will go up to $1,685; those at $1,750 will go up to $1,965; and those at $2,500 will go up to $2,805.
